Safety For were appointed by VINCI Construction UK to undertake the Principal Designer Advisor Role for this project following the continued success the partnership has seen on Swansea University Bay Campus Scheme.

VINCI Construction UK were awarded the £74 million contract to build eight accommodation blocks that would consist of 1,122 bedrooms, in the planned Fallowfield student village project
at Owen’s Park, Manchester. Alongside these accommodation blocks there will be an energy centre, student amenity hub and associated landscaping. This is only Phase 1 of much larger enterprise.

VINCI Construction UK’s work began in February 2018, following the collapse of Carillion, who were previously awarded the contract. This brought with it design issues as foundation works and other had been carried out but left incomplete.

Fallowfield Student Village will include a student hub incorporating facilities for students living on and off the campus, improved sports, facilities accessible to both, students, local residents and local sports clubs, enhanced landscaping and an improved frontage onto Wilmslow Road including retail outlets
