Pheonix Park

Built on the former Phoenix Timber Yard site, this phase of the Phoenix Park project saw the construction of a retail unit to be fitted out by TK Maxx.
The works consisted of a steel frame shell building with a pitched roof, concrete foundations and ground beams. Exterior works included all necessary service connections, roadways, pavements, car parking, foul and surface water drainage, together with landscaping.

Safety For were appointed as Principal Designer Advisor to the Principal Contractor, Caddick and were responsible in ensuring risk mitigation was a key focus in the design of the facilities while ensuring Caddick and the rest of the Project team were complying with their duties under CDM 2015.
One of the main issues to contend with during the project was operating inside a live retail park and maintaining segregation between the construction traffic and members of the public, through a shared entrance. On site, there was a need for creating a borrow pit, to allow work on site levels and the creation of an attenuation pond.

The project was finished in early 2017, and now operates as a TK Maxx store.
