What is COSHH and why do I need it?
COSHH, which stands for Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations, mandates the control of exposure to materials that can cause health issues. It's important to note that it might not be the material itself that poses a risk, but the dust, gas, or fume it generates. Even office environments contain hazardous materials like bleach and cleaning products.
In the UK, Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are a requirement under the Reach regulation. These sheets provide crucial information that can be utilized for conducting a risk assessment as mandated by COSHH. It's essential to understand that the safety data sheet alone does not serve as a COSHH risk assessment.
